There is an interesting story about that bank that occurred during
the depression when President Roosevelt closed the banks. The night
before the bank was to close, my grandfather had decided to leave
all his money, and it was substantial, in the bank so that the small
investors could retrieve much of their deposits the next morning.
He lost everything except his integrity. I also wouldn't doubt that
other members of the board of directors did the same thing.
