Sixth / Central Methodist Church

The Sixth Methodist Church,
also known as Central Methodist, was organized on December 9, 1849. The church was
built in stone at 181 Market Street and dedicated on Thanksgiving Day in 1851. The
Central Methodist Church has been influential in Methodism throughout its history.
Merged with First Methodist in 1937.
