By Seymour Pierce

        In the mid and late 30's we still lived on  Prince Street {odd  #s  west side}and had a small candy store on Prince Street {east side}

Some memories:

Montgomery Street toward West Kinney Street on Prince Street {east side} ...At corner Harry's Dry goods  ...Father Divine's storefront mission ...Holy Roller store front Church  ...Our candy store ...Krell's Jewelry ...Jewish Religious Items store ...Corner  butcher market ...

        Across the street {to west side}, head back toward Montgomery Street ...Optometrist ...NJ Wholesale  Tobacco Co  (my first paying job  $7 per week) ....Marcus Roumanian Restaurant ...

        Across street to East side  heading  Montgomery Street to Spruce Street ...Corner Tavern/Saloon ...Lomachinsky Coal store ...Men's Hat Maker ...Schnur's candy store...  small bakery outlet {part of Mittleman's} ...Kaplan's  smoke house and restaurant {also had an outlet out back on Broome Street} ...Bakulchack Tailor ... Halper Paper ... Our butcher shop ...Chicken Market ...to corner Spruce  Liquor Store ...

        Cross back to "west side"  go  Spruce Street to Montgomery Street ...corner Mantells shoes  ... Old Talmud Torah ...Fish Market ...Apartment house #201 ...Tinsmith Store , anything  made from metal, mostly tin ...Small  hardware store, for any small household repairs.

        To my knowledge, this covers the area on Prince Street between Montgomery Street and Spruce Street {east and west sides]
